My name is Connor, a Graphic Designer based in Edinburgh. I use design  to  shape the world around me and enjoy flipping a problem into a challenge. I create with purpose, excelling in conceptual projects. I enjoy teamwork as it allows an idea to reach its full potential, I’m also very capable of pushing an idea independently. 
I take a simple approach to life, taking every opportunity and experience. I pride myself on my dry sense of humour, capability on expressing my views and determination in achieving my personal goals.
Employment
October 2017 - Present. University of Edinburgh: Design, Publication and Digital Media Officer
My role involves working as an in-house designer for the Institute of Genetics and Cancer within the University of Edinburgh. I work in a small team alongside Public Engagement and Marketing managers. I work mostly independently, working directly with a diverse range of clients and projects from concept to finish, with the goal of  sharing their cutting edge research and the impact it has on society. Responsibilities include:
1. Working on various projects such as logo design for research teams and various organisations working with the university
2. Leading on marketing and advertising projects, designing both digital and print materials for both internal and external events
3. Running a printing service for large format - small prints
4. Managing websites. A strong attention for detail is needed to ensure the structure and accessibility standards are up-kept. Responsibilities include: adding and creating content/uploading media. March - June 2017. Snook: 4 month internship as graphic designer
My role involved working as a junior designer, assisting in various projects from designing user experience maps, designing tools to assist in service design research, designing logos, leaflets and brochures, designing presentation templates and even carrying out research interviews. Responsibilities included:
1. Working and taking initiative in team projects
2. Working to strict deadlines and directly with clients
3. Assisting in key user research and running insightful workshops
4. Meeting the needs of people centred projects in an agile process
